HEAR Now pics

I did post a few pictures from HEAR Now this past weekend to my Instagram and Twitter, but most of them went to Wildclaw Theatre’s Instagram. You can see them here!

I’ll link to show audio as soon as it’s mixed.

HEAR Now Festival, Kansas City

This weekend I will be at the Hear Now Festival in Kansas City, MO with my friends in Chicago’s Wildclaw Theatre company. I’ll be backing up Foley designer Ele Matelan at the foley table as we present the award-winning short audio drama “Skinny” at the festival’s AUDIO Tonight event on Saturday.

Also at the festival, Wildclaw will be presenting my brother Tim’s short audio drama “Imaginary Fiend,” as recorded at Deathscribe 2015.

Be there or be absent!

Mrs. Meyers talks about Perfection

I recently created the sound design for this piece featuring the real-life Mrs. Meyers. The feel of the piece was to be intentionally somewhat scrappy, so backgrounds were played loud, as if the sounds were captured in-camera. But they were all created in the studio!

“Market Value” post-production

This month I’m working on post-production sound for Wendell Etherly’s feature-length drama Market Value. I’m working with a fantastic crew on this picture. For Foley I’m joined by Steve Baldwin and Ele Matelan, who have performed Foley for the last several films I’ve worked on. Additionally, the immensely talented Shannon Nicole Hill has come on board to direct Time Loop Chicago*, my loop group ensemble. I had a great opportunity to make recordings of two of the main picture cars in the film, courtesy of lead actor/executive producer Chandra Michaels. We’re about half-way done with post sound and hope to mix in about three weeks.

*Time Loop Chicago is (this time):
Hillary Gokenbach
Janet Kownacki
Scott Sorrell
Alan Vuchichevich
Alexandria Frenkel

Portunus

I recently designed and mixed two short films for Sigsaly Entertainment as part of their Indiegogo campaign for the feature film “Angle of Incidence.”  The second short, Portunus, is now online!

Give it a watch, check out the Indiegogo page, and chip in if you’re so inspired.

“Limerence” Kickstarter update: I’m famous! (well, not really)

The director and producers of “Limerence” sat down with me and composers Alexa Borden and Connor Cook of Lexacon Music to talk about the sound design and music of the short film “Limerence.” The three of us worked on the trailer for the film, and should be working on the final film if fundraising is successful.

Here’s the result:

The Kickstarter for “Limerence” runs until March 2, 2016. Please give it a look, and contribute if you are moved to do so!

“Angle of Incidence” Indiegogo campaign

And here it is, the fundraising campaign for “Angle of Incidence.” The feature-length science fiction film is set in the same universe as “The Judas Run” and the upcoming short “Portunus,” and continues the story of a mysterious device and the various government and underworld factions who are in pursuit of it.

I have had a great time working on the prequels and look forward to doing the sound for the main film. It should be tons of fun.

Please check out the Indiegogo campaign, and kick in if you’re so moved. Thanks!
